The BAS Galleries Booking - Overview, Rule & Regulations with form Download

The Bombay Art Society is delighted to announce the commencement of booking of its Art Galleries from October, 2016 onwards. The Art Galleries are equipped to showcase Paintings, Sculptures, Installations, Video Art, Photography, Graphics, New Media, etc. Apart from the Art Galleries, The Bombay Art Society's Art Complex houses a 78 seater Auditorium, a 15 seater Conference Room, an Art Reference Library and an Art Shoppe.

The Bombay Art Society, a Non- Profit Arts Institution, was founded in 1888. It has been recognized as one of the oldest art institutions in the Asian Subcontinent promoting visual arts since past 127 years. Considering the yeomen services in the field art, The Bombay Art Society, which operated from a small office at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai for many decades, was granted a land by the State Government at a strategic location at Bandra Reclamation, Mumbai. A huge symbol of architectural grandiose which is built on a 10,000 Sq. feet area has now taken shape in the heart of the city.

The Bombay Art Society's its Art Complex was inaugurated at the hands of The Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi in February, 2016. This event was celebrated with much grandeur and marked a major achievement in the development of Visual Arts in India. This Art complex is a significant addition to the nation's Art and Cultural infrastructure, providing artists and art enthusiasts with much needed space for art exhibitions, art residencies, film screenings, live demonstrations, lectures, workshops, educational activities etc.

The career of virtually every Indian artist of renown today has been benefited from the glorious past of the Bombay Art Society. The society has successfully organised 124 All India Annual Art Exhibitions, providing platform for several emerging artists from the country. The Initial careers of the ace artists like S. L. Haldankar, K. K Hebbar, N. S.Bendre Badri Narayan, A. A. Almelkar, P. A. Dhond, A A. Raiba, M. R. Achrekar, M.F. Hussain, Akbar Padamsee, K. H. Ara has been influenced by the awards, recognitions and scholarships from The Bombay Art Society's Annual Art Exhibitions.

The Bombay Art Societies art galleries will be available to artists, arts institutions, art galleries, curators, museums, educational institutions, societies, ect. for Visual Arts Exhibitions from October, 2016 on a weekly rented basis. The auditorium will also be available on a nominal rent for various programs, slide shows, presentations to the artists, individuals and institutions.

Artists can submit the duly filled Gallery Booking Application Form on the above address for booking of the art galleries.
