The Bombay Art Society is now gearing up for the 125th Annual Art Exhibition from the 21st to 27th February, 2017 at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. This event is celebrated in much grandeur and is the most awaited art exhibition in the country. During the exhibition a myriad confluence of paintings and sculptures of Established as well as Emerging artists from all over India will be on display. The exhibition is attended by approximately 5000 people from all over India.

To celebrate this momentous event, The Bombay Art Society has planned to give 10 special Awards of Rs. 25,000/- each under professional and student category, Rs.1,00,000/- under Lalibai Dharamdas Bhambhani Scholarship Scheme, Rs.25,000/- under Bendre – Hussain Scholarship Scheme and Rs. 1,00,000/- under ‘Roopdhar’ Lifetime Achievement Award.

On the Centenary Year celebrations of the Bombay Art Society, 26th January 1988, at NCPA's Tata Theatre in Mumbai, a live concert between the legendary vocalist Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and the Master Artist M. F. Husain took place. While Bhimsen recited before the select audience M. F. Husain performed a live painting on the huge canvas. Merits of the event aside, the canvas had been bought in advance by Goodrick Group Ltd for Rupees Five Lakh, which was a big amount in those days. This sum was donated to the society to award scholarships during its Annual Exhibitions. The scholarships came to be known as Bendre- Husain Scholarship of Rs. 25,000/-, given every year till today.

On 29th November, 2015 The Bombay Art Society had organized a Live Paintings / Sculpting event, ‘Kalecha Jagar’ where 44 well known as well as emerging artists working in diverse disciplines worked on a visual art piece in a public performance at The J. J. School of Art, Mumba. Approximately, 3000 Art Enthusiasts visited the event and witnessed artists working live on distinct Painting styles like Portraits, Landscapes, and Creative, as well as Sculptures, Ceramics and Arts and Craft in the premise of the Art School.
